The Velcro is fantastic - beats the old coat I had with the plastic clasps. This is SO easy to put on and take off - especially with a squirmy little beagle. She seems to love it - comes right over to me when it's time to put it on. I love that it's warm on one side and weather proof on the other. The red color makes it easy to spot her on the lawn.
