I wanted to like these suits...I really, really did. I like the fabric, it seems to be breathable. I love the fact that it has snaps instead of velcro, it's so much easier to fasten on a feisty kitten, and I can throw it in the wash without worrying about it sticking to everything. The stitching could be better, one of the suits had a hole in one of the seams, and there are a lot of strings hanging off like it just wasn't quite finished properly after being sewn. But, I measured my kitten...according to the size chart, he should have been a large, and we have a large suit from another brand (TORJOY Cat Professional Surgical Recovery Suit for Abdominal Wounds Skin Diseases,Breathable E-Collar Alternative Cotton Surgery Shirt for Cats and Dogs) that fits him pretty well, so I got a large for him. He seems to be in between sizes on their chart, so I ordered a medium and a large, the medium ended up getting here a day later. The large got here, and it was wayyy too big, like the back part that should have wrapped around the back part of his legs, was a couple inches too long. (I even put it on my 11-year-old girl, and it was too long on her.) So I put it back in its bag, put the TORJOY suit back on him, and waited for the medium to get here. Success! Or so I thought. After it had been on him for a little while, I noticed the neck/shoulder part kept getting pulled down, indicating that it is too short. As I was putting the suits back in their bags to return them, I decided to lay them side by side to compare the sizes, and WOW, there is a pretty big difference between the medium and the large, especially considering they don't stretch a whole lot! If your cat doesn't fit the measurements almost exactly, it's not going to fit. Anything between two sizes, and it's not going to fit! I was so disappointed, I really wanted one of these to fit, because my kitten had abdominal surgery, and I want to make sure to keep the incision clean, meaning I'll need to have 2 suits, one to wear and one to wash. I prefered this one to the one by TORJOY because the leg holes on the TORJOY are a little too small and it has velcro instead of snaps, but he's just going to have to deal with too-small leg holes because neither of these fit him properly. For reference, he is a 10-month old kitten, he's a bit big for his age, we think he may be part maine coon, but he was 8.5 pounds when he was weighed at the beginning of April. His back length is 14-ish inches? It's hard to tell, he's afraid of my tape measure (he's not the smartest critter...)★★★★★★★★★By Vera Tass
My cat had surgery on his stomach and would not leave his stiches alone. The cone was making him miserable, so I went searching for another option. I bought three different surgical suits, and this one was by far the best in terms of fit and how it was designed to actually stay on. My cat is apparently an escape artist, but he never wiggled his way out of this one. As you can see by the photo, he is also a pretty big cat, and very chubby, and the large blue suit was stretchy enough to fit him.The drawbacks: the size large was only just big enough for my big cat. I kept this suit on him for at least a week solid and did not take it off of him, and that was a mistake. The elastic seams around his front legs, and the front of the neckline were rubbing on him and caused some hair loss. Not sure if giving him breaks from the suit would have resolved this, but I feel bad that I did not notice this until I took it off of him for good.My cat was also able to chew/lick some holes around the leg holes, and after a week of wear, it has too many holes and worn down spots to be worth keeping. Unless you have a really chill cat, this will probably be a one time use item. And lastly, be warned that not all of these suits are made the same!! I ended up buying a second suit in the camo because I wanted to be able to wash the blue suit, but the way that one was made was not going to work for my cat. The camo design was printed on, and made the fabric MUCH stiffer than the blue, so it was not going to stretch enough to fit my fat cat. It was also made with snaps down the back instead of the velcro, which was much easier to pull apart.Overall this suit, while not perfect, was a lifesaver and allowed me to actually sleep at night and not worry about my cat pulling his stitches out.★★★★★★★★★By Jameson & Deirdre Buchanan
This recovery suit has been a god send. We have a large Maine Coon cat that became ill and needed exploratory surgery. By the time they operated, he had lost more than 3lbs and was getting severely dehydrated. Although the surgery was a success, problems started on day 3 post op when he began to lick his incision and managed to pull out some stitches (twice!) over a holiday weekend, necessitating two additional vet visits. He was fitted with two different sized cones, one after each instance of pulling out his sutures, to prevent grooming. Although he couldn’t lick and pull at his sutures with the cone on, he also refused to eat or drink (and would barely move) while wearing them, exacerbating the already worrisome problem of weight loss and dehydration. I found this recovery suit while browsing on Amazon for a solution and figured what could it hurt. I purchased the largest size and even though it fit snuggly, it still allowed him to use the litter box without issue, move freely once he got used to it (took a couple of hours) and best of all, he’s unable to groom his tummy and the areas surrounding his numerous stitches. By the second day wearing it, he was eating and drinking like a champ and his demeanor was back to normal. What a relief! Wearing the suit allowed our cat to have the extra recovery time he needed to heal and he adjusted to wearing it almost immediately whereas he was very unhappy and freaked out by the cone. Highly recommend!★★★★★★★★★By Coco
